Synopsis

Tourism Destination Organizations: Drivers of Connected Creative Green Development and Marketing. The monograph entitled 'TOURISM DESTINATION ORGANIZATIONS: drivers of connected creative green development and marketing' consists of four scientific thematic sections for tourism employees in the public and private sectors, tourism and hospitality students and civil society representatives. In the discourses, 40 authors focused on: (i) sustainable management of tourist destinations, providers and experiences through the local added value, based on security in tourism and planned crisis management; (ii) digitization in tourism for the management and marketing of related stakeholder destinations; (iii) elements of destinations through: creative offer in nature, cultural heritage, architectural uniqueness, gastronomic tourism, accommodation on tourist farms, the role of incoming tourist agencies and tourist guides for unforgettable experiences; and (iv) the main products of Slovenian tourism: active tourism in nature; valorization of cultural heritage; wellness and health services; events and business meetings; gastronomic experiences and wine destinations. The studied contents can be an excellent guide for a clear positioning of Slovenian tourist destinations on the highly competitive green tourist map of Europe.

Author Biographies

Tanja Lešnik Štuhec (ed.), University of Maribor, Faculty of Tourism

Assist. prof. Tanja Lešnik Štuhec, PhD has experience in managing and constructively participating in research, consulting and projects with a direct impact on the economy. She studies the areas of sustainable development of socially responsible destinations and their stakeholders. 15 collective brands in Slovenia are created according to the Authentic from Slovenia model, of which she is the author. As a lecturer at the Faculty of Tourism, University of Maribor, she teaches courses related to sustainable tourism development, destination management and rural development, protected areas and networking. She actively participates in a lot of project (for example the Tourism 4.0 project), is a member of the Pohorje Development Group and leads the activities of developing and marketing the offer of the mentioned brands.

Barbara Pavlakovič (ed.), University of Maribor, Faculty of Tourism

dr. Barbara Pavlakovič is an assistant professor in the field of destination management at the Faculty of Tourism. Her fields of research are sustainable tourism, as she deals with the strategic development of sustainable destinations, their events and adaptation to climate change, also in the light of renewable (geothermal) sources. It also deals with various forms of cultural tourism (for example, industrial tourism) and aspects of the safety of the tourist offer.

Nejc Pozvek (ed.), University of Maribor, Faculty of Tourism

Nejc Pozvek is an assistant and researcher and as a geographer he mainly covers the field of geography of tourism. He is also active in teaching and research in the fields of destination management and strategic planning in tourism, and project-wise he is involved in the field of climate change in tourism, collective brands and content related to environmental and regional development topics.
