Synopsis

Singing is a vital part of musical life in primary school, integrating various elements that are essential for children's musical development. The development of the singing voice requires the thoughtful application of vocal techniques, with an emphasis on correct posture, proper breathing, and pitch exploration. Music teachers play a critical role in introducing these techniques into the music classroom. Proper techniques not only enhance the quality of singing but also reduce the risk of vocal cord damage, which is becoming increasingly common due to modern lifestyles. Despite their importance, research (Shamsiev, 2023) indicates that many teachers feel inadequately trained to incorporate vocal and breathing exercises into the classroom. This underscores the need for additional professional training and support to enable teachers to implement these practices more safely and effectively in the music classroom.
