International Language Conference on “The Importance of Learning Professional Foreign Languages for Communication between Cultures"

In 2018, the 10th International Language Conference on “The Importance of Learning Professional Foreign Languages for Communication between Cultures” was held at the Faculty of Logistics of the University of Maribor. Ten years ago, the idea for the conference was born at the Faculty of Logistics and was further developed in cooperation with domestic and foreign professionals. The main goal of the conference was, and remains, to contribute to the exchange and dissemination of professional knowledge and good practice from the field of teaching and learning professional foreign languages, which, like logistics, connect different cultures and economies of the world. Starting in 2008, the first six conferences were hosted by the Faculty of Logistics. In the spirit of the conference and to foster even closer cooperation with domestic and foreign professionals, in 2014 the conference started rotating between different venues. Accordingly, in 2014 and 2016 the conference was hosted by the Faculty of Business and Economics of the University of Maribor, while the conference in 2015 was hosted by the Faculty of Arts of the University of Zagreb. In 2020, the conference will be hosted by the Faculty of Technical Sciences of the University of Novi Sad.
