Second, revised and updated edition.

Gynaecology and Perinatology. The textbook Gynaecology and Perinatology - second, revised and updated edition includes expert contributions from authors from the entire Slovenian field and renowned experts from abroad. The textbook is divided into 21 sections comprising 106 chapters. The textbook comprises chapters by 125 authors, written to a high professional standard, all of which have been critically reviewed by two referees. All the authors are internationally renowned experts in their fields, which gives the publication added weight and quality. The textbook is richly illustrated with the authors‘ own photographs and original drawings, and is accompanied by numerous tables. The rich content of the textbook will certainly be useful reading for all medical students and other health professionals working in the field of gynaecology and obstetrics, as well as for the general public.

Author Biographies

Iztok Takač (ed.), University of Maribor, Faculty of Medicine

Iztok Takač is a physician, specialist in gynecology and obstetrics, at the Clinic for Gynecology and Perinatology of the University Clinical Centre Maribor (the UCC Maribor). His selected professional specialty is gynecological oncology. He has cooperated in numerous international clinical studies. He is teaching students at the Faculty of Medicine and the Faculty of Health Sciences. Since the year 2002 he has managed the Service for Gynecology and Perinatology, since the year 2007 the Clinic for Gynecology and Perinatology of the UCC Maribor. Since the year 2020 he has been the dean of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Maribor. In the year 2020 he edited the textbook Gynecological Oncology.

Ksenija Geršak (ed.), University Medical Centre Ljubljana

Ksenija Geršak is a specialist in gynecology and obstetrics at the Gynecological Clinic of the University Medical Centre Ljubljana (UMCL) where she is focused on the fields of reproductive pathophysiology, genetics and teratology. In addition, she is a vice dean for scientific research work and full professor in the field of gynecology and obstetrics at the Medical Faculty of the University of Ljubljana. As a lecturer and mentor she has worked within interdisciplinary doctoral program Biomedicine of the University of Ljubljana. She has managed a research program in the field of reproductive health and has actively cooperated in numerous national and international research projects. She is also the executive editor of the medical journal titled the Slovenian Medical Journal which is published by the Slovenian Medical Association and Slovenian Academy of Medical Science.
