Synopsis

Practicum for Succession Law. Succession law, as one of the fundamental areas of legal studies, plays a crucial role in regulating the transfer of assets and rights from a deceased person to others. The Practicum for Succession Law will serve as an invaluable source of knowledge and practical experience. It is primarily intended for students of the Faculty of Law at the University of Maribor, but also for anyone who wishes to understand or deepen their knowledge of succession law and tackle the challenges that may arise in the process of succession.

Author Biographies

Suzana Kraljić, University of Maribor, Faculty of Law

Dr. Suzana Kraljić is a full professor at the University of Maribor, Faculty of Law, Slovenia. She teaches and researches family law (especially child law), medical law, and succession law. She is head of the Center for medical law, Faculty of Law, University of Maribor. She is/was the holder of five bilateral and four students projects. She has also cooperated in various international projects as a national reporter. She was a visiting lecturer at the Masaryk University Brno, University of Bucarest, Leibnitz University Hannover, ELTE Budapest, University of Istanbul, University of Malta, University of Lisboa… Her bibliography encompasses several books and a number of book chapters and articles, published in national and foreign journals. For the monograph 'Pravni izzivi skrbništva' (Legal Challenges of Guardianship), she received the award from the Ministry responsible for family affairs in 2022.

Katja Drnovšek, University of Maribor, Faculty of Law

Dr Katja Drnovšek is an assistant professor at the Faculty of Law, University of Maribor, where her main research and teaching interests primarily lie in the areas of family law, succession law, philosophy and theory of law, and English legal terminology. She also closely collaborates with the translation department of the Faculty of Arts at the University of Maribor. The results of her research activities are published in numerous articles and book chapters, issued by the most prominent European legal publishers (Springer, Kluwer, Intersentia), and she regularly presents them at international conferences and during research visits.
