Synopsis

Advances Dyeing Processes and Colour: Exercise Instructions. Exercises “Advances dyeing processes and colour” deal with the systematics and nomenclature of dyes, the physical chemistry of dyeing processes and the use of advanced materials and techniques in the dyeing processes. Most of them are dedicated to special processes that enable a modern way of dyeing and, at the same time, achieve a higher level of quality in terms of ecology and (multi)functional properties of materials, and dyeing with natural dyes. We specifically study the dyeing under conditions of supercritical CO2, dyeing with ultrasound or plasma pre-treatment, and dyeing with functional dyes. Special properties could be achieved with this type of dyes such as: thermochromism, photochromism, electrochromism, solvatochromism and other special effects.

Darinka Fakin, employed at the University of Maribor, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, on a position of university lecturer, elected as a full professor. In "Materials" habilitation field, I demonstrate a scientific work in the field of finishing and processing of functional materials. I combine studies with environmental problems, which are a part of the research work. Special part of my research are dyes and colours, from a physical-chemical as well as psychological point of view, and the transfer of research results into an industrial practice. Laboratory for Dyeing, Colorimetry and Finishing Ecology, the head of which I am, has rich experiences with the research for industry. Published scientific papers are important for the development of the profession in an international and national context.
