Synopsis

Detective Activity and Justification of Employee Supervision:  A Guide for Subscribers and Providers of Detective Services in the Republic of Slovenia. In Slovenia, there is a noticeable marked increase in the need for private detective services, which is the result of several factors: on the one hand, there is the critical issue of absenteeism in the workplace, which often reflects in poor business results, while employers, based on their rights, increasingly resort to legal and illegal forms of employee surveillance. As the demand for services grows, so does the incidence of surveillance verging on illegality. The project tackled the problem of developing a proposal for a decision-making approach on employee surveillance with potential violations of labour legislation, presented in the guide for clients, and allowing identification and analysis of competences of individuals providing private detective services. The client can review their rights and obligations, gaining insight into potential inclusion of private detectives: whether they should be supervised by the client itself as the employer or by a person who has the necessary competences and is acting on the basis of legal entitlements.
