Ergonomic Jobs Creations: Siemens Jack Sofware Package. Since employees spent approximately 8 hours per day at work, ergonomic workplace design is essential and the most important part of ergonomics. In the best case ergonomics workplace design principles are considered during new workplace design stage and thus prevent the possible health problems later on. But in practice there are also several cases, where we examine suitability of present workplaces, mostly in the stage when employees already have health problems such as neck, arm and spine pains or repeated absence from work. During new workplace design or assessing suitability of present workplaces, different software packages can be used. In the handbook use of program package Siemens Jack is presented with detailed description of all needed steps for suitable ergonomics workplace design with practical cases. Using Jack we can design real-time 3D environment, insert human model, generate simulation of human movements at work and examine the suitability of movements with different ergonomics analyses.
