Synopsis

Stomatognathic System: Anatomy, Physiology, Development, Histology. The book The Stomatognathic System includes information that students of study programm Dental Medicine of the Faculty of Medicine University of Maribor study in the course Tooth Morphology (Oral Anatomy and Physiology). The stomatognathic system is a fundamental field of dental medicine, so knowledge of oral anatomy, physiology, histology and development is important to understand the structure and function of the stomatognathic system. Figures are added to the text for easier understanding. The textbook also includes examples from clinical practice related to the area under consideration.

Author Biography

Anita Fekonja, University of Maribor, Faculty of Medicine

Assist. prof. Anita Fekonja is a specialist for jaw and teeth orthopedic, employed at orthodontic department of Community Health Center dr. Adolf Drolc Maribor and the Faculty of Medicine University of Maribor, where she is habilitated in the field of anatomy and histology, morphology of the stomatognathic sistem and jaw and tooth orthopaedic. She is the recipient of the Prof. Dr. Zora Janžekovič Award for exemplary work in the field of cooperation with students and the pedagogical process. In parallel with her clinical work, she is active in the research field. Her bibliography includes more than 120 units, including numerous active participation in professional conferences and articles in journals with impact factor.
