Synopsis

Study Material for the Course Public International Law: Collection of ExercisesThe study material in the form of a collection of exercises is intended for students of the first cycle of the Bologna Law study program for the subject Public International Law at the Faculty of Law of the University of Maribor. The study material is prepared for the implementation of exercises in the pedagogical process. The exercises are divided into two parts. The first part covers practical examples, while the second part covers questions and statements. The Charter of the United Nations with the Statute of the International Court of Justice is also attached to the collection of exercises. The study material serves as preparation for the exam in the Public International Law course, and can also be useful as a tool for other courses in the field of international law.

Author Biographies

Matjaž Tratnik, University of Maribor, Faculty of Law

Prof. dr. Matjaž Tratnik studied law at the universities of Ljubljana and Maastricht, where he also lectured and received his doctorate. After that, he was an associate professor at the University of Aruba in the Netherlands Antilles for several years, and since 1996 he has been a professor at the Faculty of Law of the University of Maribor. In recent years, he also lectured at the Karl Franz University in Graz and the Faculty of Administrative and European Studies in Podgorica. He is the author of numerous books and articles in the field of property and land registry law, citizenship law, EU law and international law.

Petra Weingerl, University of Maribor, Faculty of Law

Petra Weingerl is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Law, University of Maribor. After she obtained diplomas in law and economy at University of Maribor, Petra completed her doctorate and Magister Juris (with Distinction) at the Faculty of Law, University of Oxford. Her teaching and research activities at the Faculty of Law in Maribor focus on EU law, international law and comparative law. She also teaches EU Law and Policy course at the University of Trieste. In 2018, Petra received “Young Lawyer of the Year” Award, awarded by the Slovenian Lawyers’ Association. A year later she received an award "Večer's Scientist of Styria 2019".
