Synopsis

The scientific monograph 'Selected aspects of human life in civil and criminal law' comprises ten contributions. The authors analyse various aspects of the meaning of human life in the light of selected topics in civil and criminal law. The Slovenian and Turkish authors, aware of the importance and sensitivity of the overarching theme of the scientific monograph, provide an analysis of selected pressing topics (e.g. honour killing, disinheritance, crimes against life and limb, vulnerability of certain social groups (elder persons)) in the light of both national, as well as of international regulation and relevant case-law. The scientific monograph thus provides the reader with an insight into historical, current and future aspects of human life.

Author Biographies

Suzana Kraljić (ed.), University of Maribor, Faculty of Law

The editor, Suzana Kraljić, is an associate professor at the Faculty of Law, University of Maribor. Her scientific, research and teaching work is mainly in the field of family law, inheritance law and medical law. She has been a guest lecturer in Marburg, Brno, Novi Sad, Budapest, Bucharest, Tallinn and Cakovec. She has actively participated in numerous international scientific conferences (New York, Nassau, Hamburg, Oslo, Tel Aviv, Belgrade, Istanbul, Adana, Rotterdam,...). She is a member of ISFL, IASJF and EAHL, where she is also appointed as National Rapporteur for Slovenia. She is the (co)author of several scientific monographs published in Slovenia and abroad by renowned publishers (e.g. Intersentia, Kluwer, C. H. Beck, Hart Publishing...).
