Synopsis

The Proceedings of 5th International Scientific Conference organized by University of Maribor, Faculty of Economics and Business entitled »Is It Time for a Total Reset?« comprises four sections. Economics is covered by convergence trends in human development indicators in EU, characteristics of savings in North Macedonia, response of households to Covid-19 epidemic and its effect on food and beverages industry. The second part is devoted to management and it presents a case study of market entry of emerging small enterprises, circular economy in case of secondary use of raw materials in Poland, a simplification of administrative procedures in Italy, and most common approaches to motivating employees in public administration. The digitalization section includes general presentations of digitalization and its challenges in marketing and education. The fourth part displays effects of Covid-19 epidemic to legal order, to teaching business English and to EU strategy for growth, competitiveness and sustainable development.

Author Biographies

Zlatko Nedelko (ed.), University of Maribor, Faculty of Economics and Business

Zlatko NEDELKO, Ph.D. is an associate professor at the University of Maribor, Faculty of Economics and Business, Slovenia. He was a visiting researcher at Vienna University of Economics and Business, Austria (2012), and visiting professor at Vilnius Gedminas Technical University, Vilnius, Lithuania (2014) and at Obuda University, Budapest, Hungary (2019). He has published his articles in peer reviewed scholarly and co-authored books with Pearson, Palgrave Macmillan, IGI Global. He led several projects funded by Slovene Human Resource Development and Scholarship fund. He also led several projects aimed on scientific cooperation with United States of America, Germany, Russia, Hungary, Serbia and Croatia, funded by Slovenian Research Agency.

Darja Boršič (ed.), University of Maribor, Faculty of Economics and Business

Dr. Darja Boršič is Full Professor for the area of Applied Economics and Econometrics and Assistant Profesor for the area of Economic Theory and Political Economy at University of Maribor, Faculty of Economics and Business (UM FEB), where she teaches the following courses: Economic Analysis and Policy, Production and Distribution of Income, Open Economy Macroeconomics (in Slovenian and English), Econometrics, Economic growth. She is Head of Department of Economic Policy and Head of study field Economics at undergraduate and postgraduate study programme. Her research deals with price levels, exchange rates and labour market. She is a member of Institute of Economic Diagnosis and Prognosis and an active member of research programme Adjustment of the Slovenian Economy and Development Identity of Slovenia in EU (P5-0027). Since April 2019, she has been Editor-in-chief of international scientific journal Naše gospodarstvo/Our Economy.
