Phraseologie und Kultur = Phraseology and culture

Phraseologie und Kultur. Die Beiträge dieses Bandes gehen auf die traditionelle, alle zwei Jahre stattfindende Tagung der Europäischen Gesellschaft für Phraseologie zurück, die in der Zeit vom 27. 8. 2012 bis 31. 8. 2012 an der Universität Maribor stattfand. EUROPHRAS-Tagungen verfolgen grundsätzlich das Ziel, ein Forum für lebendigen und kontinuierlichen Gedankenaustausch zu schaffen und auf ihnen werden sowohl neue Ideen und Konzeptionen zur Entwicklung der Theorie der Phraseologie diskutiert als auch neue Forschungsvorhaben öffentlich präsentiert. Da die heutige Phraseologieforschung ein weites Feld darstellt, werden auch die EUROPHRAS-Tagungen seit einigen Jahren thematisch spezifiziert, so dass jeder ein Schwerpunkt zugrunde liegt. Der thematische Schwerpunkt der Tagung in Maribor 2012 war Phraseologie und Kultur; das Leitthema waren die vielfältigen Beziehungen zwischen Sprache und Kultur, das die Tagung auch in das Programm Maribor 2012 – Europäische Kulturhauptstadt eingliederte. Während der Tagung wurden mehrere spezifischere Aspekte der Phraseologie behandelt, darunter Fragestellungen wie Phraseologie und Kultur bzw. Phraseologie und Symbol. Demzufolge befassen sich Beiträge des vorliegenden Bandes hauptsächlich mit dieser Thematik, wobei kulturelle und semiotische Komponenten in unterschiedlicher Weise profiliert werden.

Phraseology and culture. The present volume contains articles based on presentations held between the 27th and the 31st of August 2012, at one of the traditional biannual conferences of the European Society of Phraseology (EUROPHRAS) hosted by the University of Maribor. EUROPHRAS conferences generally represent a forum for ongoing and active discussions as well as a platform for communicating new concepts and ideas aimed at stimulating the progress of phraseology-based theory and introducing emerging research projects to a broader public. Due to the vast scope of contemporary phraseologyrelated research, every EUROPHRAS conference revolves around one particular topic. The topic chosen for the conference in Maribor in 2012 was Phraseology and Culture. In order to correspond to the theme of the Maribor 2012 – European Capital of Culture programme, the event focused on the diversity of the interrelations between language and culture. Discussions revolved around questions related to various forms of interrelations between the aspects observed, particularly around the respective aspects of phraseology and culture and phraseology and symbol. Consequently, the articles published in this volume focus on correlations between these aspects, whereby cultural and semiotic components are profiled in distinctly different manners.
