Synopsis

Entrepreneurship is one of the key drivers of economic development, as it promotes job creation and strengthens the competitiveness of the economy. In the future, increasing emphasis will be placed on the development of innovative products and services across all economic sectors. Entrepreneurs, especially those at the beginning of their journey, face numerous challenges that impact their growth and long-term success. Providing appropriate support is crucial for enhancing competencies, encouraging innovation, and achieving stable and sustainable growth. Effective support improves the entrepreneurial experience and strengthens entrepreneurs’ ability to adapt to rapidly changing market conditions. The focus of the research is on examining the role of support mechanisms in fostering entrepreneurial development. In cooperation with the Regional Development Agency of the Ljubljana Urban Region (Sl. RRA LUR), we conducted a study based on a review of relevant literature, a survey of participants in support programs, and a structured interview with Dejan Marinčič, Advisor to the Director for Entrepreneurship and Innovation. By combining quantitative and qualitative research methods, we gained a comprehensive insight into the functioning of support programs and developed proposals to enhance existing support systems within the RRA LUR.

Vanja Kovačević, University of Maribor, Faculty of Organizational Sciences

Vanja Kovačević is a graduate organizer of HR and educational systems and is currently completing her master’s studies at the Faculty of Organizational Sciences. Her professional interests focus primarily on interpersonal relationships, the importance of lifelong learning, and the development of HR practices that contribute to a positive work environment and organizational effectiveness. Through her research, she aims to deepen the understanding of contemporary challenges in human resource management and promote the implementation of best practices in organizations.

Miha Marič , University of Maribor, Faculty of Organizational Sciences

Miha Marič, Ph.D., is a researcher in the field of leadership, management and organizational sciences. He holds a Ph.D. from the Faculty of Economics, University of Ljubljana. He is currently employed as an associate professor at the University of Maribor’s Faculty of Organizational Sciences. His research interests are power, leadership, organizational behavior, human resource management, organization and management. He is the author of numerous original scientific articles, professional articles, papers at scientific conferences, scientific monographs, and was an editor and reviewer. He also participates in research projects and consulting work.
