Synopsis

Mathematics A: For Students of FKKT UM The higher education textbook represents an introduction to mathematical analysis at the faculties of natural sciences and technology. In addition to the basic concepts of sets, logic, and numbers, real functions and the related concepts of function limits and continuity, as well as sequences and series, are discussed. The contents of the differential calculus with  the application to the  use of the derivative of a function, and the integral part of calculus are also  covered.

Author Biographies

Petra Žigert Pleteršek, University of Maribor, Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering

Prof. dr. Petra Žigert Pleteršek is employed as a higher education teacher at FKKT UM, where she is a lecturer in mathematics  courses. She is a research employee at FNM UM and is interested in a graph theory, more precisely, especially in chemical graph theory.

Matevž Črepnjak, University of Maribor, Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering

Asist. prof. dr. Matevž Črepnjak is employed as an assistant at FKKT and FNM UM, at both faculties he leads seminar exercises in various mathematical courses, at FNM he also gives some lectures. His research interest is in mathematics, more precisely in topology.
