Synopsis

Mechanics II. The teaching book is devoted to the fundamentals of kinematics and dynamics of mass particles and solid undeformable bodies. At first various approaches to describe the motion of a particle and a solid body are considered. This is followed by the definition and introduction of fundamental and general laws of dynamics. This chapter concludes by the introduction of mechanical laws related to work and energy. In the second part of the book, the most interesting and more specialized topics are considered. These are related to mechanical collisions, mechanical oscillations, and analytical mechanics.

Marko Kegl, University of Maribor, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering

Professor Marko Kegl earned his Ph.D. degree at the University of Maribor, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. He teaches and conducts research in the area of computational mechanics within the scope of mechanical engineering. His research focuses on optimization of mechanical systems with emphasis to optimization of time-dependent mechanical systems as well as sizing, shape, and topology optimization of statically loaded structures. He conducted one year of his postdoctoral research at the Technical University of Braunschweig in Germany as a Fellow of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation.
