Synopsis

Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics: Malocclusions; Diagnostic Procedures; Orthodontics Appliances. The textbook Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics is intended for students of Dental Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Maribor, for the courses Predclinical Orthodontics and Orthodontic and Dentofacial Orthopedic 1. It covers the etiology and recognition of malocclusions, the diagnostic process, and the orthodontic and dentofacial orthopedic appliances most commonly used in clinical practice. To facilitate understanding, the text includes numerous illustrations of orthodontic appliances and examples of clinical cases. Interceptive procedures and appliances, which are always valuable in the practice of a general dentist, are also described.

Author Biography

Anita Fekonja, University of Maribor, Faculty of Medicine

Assist. prof. Anita Fekonja is a specialist for jaw and teeth orthopedic, employed at orthodontic department Ortodent and at the Faculty of Medicine University where is the Head of Department of Jaw and dental orthopedics. She is the recipient of the Prof. Dr. Zora Janžekovič Award for exemplary work in the field of cooperation with students and the pedagogical process. In parallel with her clinical and teaching work, she is active in the research field. Her bibliography includes more than 120 units, including numerous active participation in professional conferences and articles in journals with impact factor.
