Bruno Hartman in njegovo kulturno poslanstvo

Bruno Hartman and his Cultural Mission. The scientific monograph, which we titled Bruno Hartman and his cultural mission, was inspired by the 100th anniversary of the birth of the literary and theater historian, librarian, playwright and translator Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bruno Hartman (1924–2011), who was also an honorary member of the Slovene Matica. His life path was eventful, full of new insights and professionally, scientifically and culturally oriented. The monograph presents Hartman's role in various fields (from education and science to culture), in which he left an indelible mark. The contributions provide professional insights into his work. Born in Celje, after studying the literature of South Slavic peoples, the Slovenian language, French and comparative literature at the University of Ljubljana, he was a professor at the teacher training college and gymnasium in Murska Sobota, and then taught at the Maribor teacher training college. He was attracted to theater, first the Ljubljana Drama, the Maribor Theater and the Slovenian Folk Theater in Celje. After that, she successfully headed the Study Library in Maribor, and later the University Library in Maribor until her retirement in 1989.
