Synopsis

Examples of Seminar Papers in the Field of Demand Forecasting and Inventory Management: Collected Materials. This publication presents a collection of selected student seminar and research projects in the fields of demand forecasting and lnventory management. It covers practical case studies from e-commerce, manufacturing, railway infrastructure maintenance, retail, and distribution, where time-series forecasting methods such as moving averages, exponential smoothing, and linear regression are applied. Particular emphasis is placed on the relationship between forecast accuracy and inventory management decisions, including optimal order quantities, safety stock levels, and reorder points. The final case study demonstrates the practical implementation ofa digital tool for automated inventory management in a distribution company. The publication aims to highlight the usefulness of analytical methods in reducing uncertainty, improving product availability, optimizing inventory levels, and supporting decision-making in modern logistics and supply chain systems.

Tea Vizinger, University of Maribor, Faculty of Logistics

Tea Vizinger is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Logistics, University of Maribor, Slovenia, where she received her PhD in logistics systems. Her research focuses on the application of quantitative methods in logistics and supply chain management, particularly in discrete optimization, network configuration, and decision analysis. In 2014, she was a research fellow at the Centre for Maritime Studies at the National University of Singapore, where she contributed to the development of a model for calculating economic and logistics performance index. She is a member of a EURO working group on retail operations and conducts research on mathematical models for coordinating product flows in retail supply chains.
