Product Development. The university textbook "Product Development" provides a comprehensive and systematic insight into the process of transforming innovative ideas into market-ready technical solutions. The authors guide the reader through all key development phases: from need formulation and requirements specification to creative concept generation using methods such as morphological matrices and TRIZ, and detailed embodiment design using DfX methodologies (Design for Manufacturing, Assembly, Environment, and Reliability). Special emphasis is placed on modern tools like digital prototypes, FEM simulations, and FMEA analysis, as well as strategic project management within concurrent engineering and lean design frameworks. The work highlights the engineer's role as an interdisciplinary creator whose systematic approach and "fail fast, fail cheap" mindset directly impact the competitiveness, sustainability, and quality of products throughout their entire lifecycle.
Produktentwicklung.
