The Impact of Socially Responsible Behaviour on Glamping Visitors’ Destination Commitment
Synopsis
This paper examines the impact of socially responsible behaviour (SRB) of glamping destinations on visitors’ destination commitment (DC). Based on an empirical study conducted using structural equation modelling (SEM), the relationships between the social and environmental dimensions of SRB and the affective, calculative and normative dimensions of DC are analysed. The results indicate that the environmental dimension of SRB has a statistically significant and positive effect on all three dimensions of DC, confirming its key role in the context of sustainable tourism development. The social dimension significantly influences affective and normative commitment, whereas its effect on calculative commitment is not statistically significant. The economic dimension was excluded from the final model due to its high correlation with the environmental dimension. The findings further show that the frequency of visits contributes to higher levels of affective and normative commitment. The results confirm that the perception of sustainable practices plays an important role in shaping visitors’ positive attitudes and behavioural intentions, as it strengthens their identification with the glamping destination and increases the likelihood of repeat visits. The paper contributes to the theoretical foundations of sustainable tourism development and provides practical implications for the effective management of glamping destinations.
