From Literature to Children’s Opera: Fox Moon by Maša Ogrizek as Example of Intermedial Adaptation

Nika Vizjak Puškar is a PhD in literary studies and an assistant professor of Slovenian literature at the Faculty of Education, University of Maribor. She is employed at the Maribor Hearing and Speech Center as a teacher of Slovenian language and literature, where she works with deaf and hard of hearing students, students with speech and language disorders, and students with autistic disorders. Her research focuses on young people's literature, reading literacy, adapting literary texts for different groups of readers, and the study of literary adaptations. In her doctoral dissertation, she researched the adaptation of fiction into easier-to-read forms for students with speech and language disorders. She also pays special attention to easy reading, the accessibility of literature, and the relationship between literature and other artistic media.

Nana Forte is a composer and assistant professor of music theory at the Faculty of Education of the University of Maribor. She graduated in composition at the Academy of Music in Ljubljana and continued her studies at the Carl Maria von Weber University of Music in Dresden and the University of the Arts in Berlin. Her oeuvre includes chamber, vocal, vocal-instrumental, music-theatre and orchestral works. Vocal music, especially choral composition, is at the heart of her creativity. Nana Forte's compositions are often performed by professional European choral ensembles and are regularly presented outside Europe. She also works in the field of opera and musical theatre; her operatic debut Paradies oder nach Eden premiered at the Vorarlberger Landestheater in Bregenz in 2016.
