Synopsis

Didactics: From Educational Theory to Reflective Teaching Practice, University Textbook for Courses in the Field of Didactics. The textbook Didactics: From Educational Theory to Reflective Teaching Practice is designed for all students preparing for the teaching profession – future teachers, educators and pedagogues at all levels of the educational system. It is equally valuable for practising educators seeking a theoretically grounded reference for reflecting on and developing their teaching, for professionals engaged in educational processes across various fields, for subject didacticians, and for students of subject-specific didactics who require a solid foundation in general didactics. Across seven content chapters, it systematically addresses fundamental didactic concepts, structural elements of the teaching process, didactic principles, the articulation of the learning process, and teaching methods, forms and strategies. Theory and practice are intertwined in each chapter through warm-up activities, in-text exercises and concluding tasks, while an annotated bibliography provides a starting point for independent study.
