Synopsis

General and Inorganic Chemistry: Instructions for Laboratory Exercises in the Pharmacy Study Program. This book is a collection of instructions for conducting practical experiments in general and inorganic chemistry for pharmacy students. Students are introduced to the basics of laboratory work: they become familiar with laboratory equipment, master basic laboratory techniques and their application in setting up apparatus for chemical experiments, link computational tasks to experiments, learn how to write reports, and become acquainted with safety procedures in the chemistry laboratory.

Author Biographies

Mojca Slemnik, University of Maribor, Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering

Assist. Prof. Mojca Slemnik, assistant at the FCCT UM, is engaged in the study of the corrosion kinetics of metallic and, in particular, biocompatible materials, in addition to her educational work. Her professional tasks include editing and designing presentation brochures and annual reports of the faculty as well as its promotion.

Janja Stergar, University of Maribor, Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering

Assoc. Prof. Janja Stergar, assistant professor at the Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology, University of Maribor, is engaged in the synthesis and characterization of inorganic materials and magnetic nanoparticles for use in biomedical applications and systems for the removal of micropollutants from water, in addition to her teaching duties.
