The Impact of Organizational Communication on Employee Burnout in a Public Health Institution

Synopsis

Internal communication plays an important role in shaping organizational climate and employee well-being, particularly in highly demanding work environments such as the public healthcare sector. The aim of this paper is to examine employees’ perceptions of organizational communication, the level of burnout, and the relationship between organizational communication and burnout in a public healthcare institution in Slovenia. The study is based on an analysis of employees’ perceptions of key aspects of organizational communication and their psychosocial well-being. The findings indicate a relatively stable organizational climate, while also highlighting challenges related to respectful communication and employee involvement in decision-making processes. A moderate level of burnout among employees was identified. The paper provides a starting point for further researcehs and emphasizes the importance of improving communication practices as a preventive factor in the public healthcare sector.
