Synopsis

Guiding Sustainable Business Development. The publication Guiding Sustainable Business Development explores the significance of sustainable development as a cornerstone of modern business operations. It presents the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and emphasizes their integration into business models to enhance competitiveness, resilience, and long-term success. The publication examines innovative business models, the impact of sustainability legislation, and the inclusion of social responsibility and diversity in corporate strategies. Special attention is given to the sustainable (re)orientation of family businesses and the role of non-profit organizations. It offers theoretical foundations, analyses of best practices, and concrete examples of sustainable management and innovation. The aim is to raise awareness of the importance of sustainable development, promote new approaches in business practices, and foster collaboration between businesses, the academic community, and society. This contribution supports the creation of a sustainable future and ensures the long-term success of companies in a dynamic global environment.

Tjaša Štrukelj (ed.), University of Maribor, Faculty of Economics and Business

Dr Tjaša Štrukelj is an Associate Professor in the field of governance and strategic management at the University of Maribor, Faculty of Economics and Business (UM FEB). She is the UM FEB member of Senate and Commission for Scientific and Research Affairs. She (co)authored articles (http://www.cobiss.si/, 16338), actively participates in the research program Entrepreneurship for Innovative Society, is a member of the program committee of international journals, Path to integrity (P2I) community leader for Slovenia, Commissioner for Sustainable Development of FEB employees, member of the Slovenian Academy of Management. In 2024, the IRDO Institute selected her as the Strategist of the Year for Sustainable Development and Social Responsibility.

Maja Rožman (ed.), University of Maribor, Faculty of Economics and Business

Maja Rožman, PhD is an assistant professor in the field of quantitative economic analyses at the University of Maribor, Faculty of Economics and Business, Department of Quantitative Economic Analyses. Her research work is focused on structural equation modelling and on contemporary management challenges in organizations. She is interested in quantitative methods in economics and business sciences. Her research work at a foreign university was done at the University of Zadar, Department of Economics. As a researcher and member of the Institute for Operational Research, she is involved in several international and market research projects. Also, she leads smaller domestic projects for the economy and some projects where she is connected to international streams of research.
